Micro-perforation questions that need product context.

There is no universal pattern for fresh produce. The aim is to define the problem, select a testable approach and confirm it against the actual product, pack and cold chain.

Does micro-perforated packaging automatically extend shelf life?

No. It may support gas exchange or moisture management in some applications, but shelf-life outcomes depend on produce, pack weight, film area, perforation, sanitation, temperature and the supply chain. Packed-product validation is required.

How is a perforation pattern selected?

Selection starts with the produce profile, respiration and moisture observations, pack geometry, film construction, sealed area, cold-chain conditions and target outcome. Existing trial data or a current pack is more useful than a generic hole count.

Can micro-perforation be combined with anti-fog film?

It can be considered where airflow and surface visibility both need attention. The functions differ, so the combined construction must still be checked for sealing, strength, line compatibility and product performance.

What should a packing house provide for a review?

Provide the produce, pack weight, current film and dimensions, perforation details if known, storage and transport temperatures, observed pack behaviour, packing equipment, target throughput, trial requirements and commercial forecast.
